Having stayed at this hotel, I can tell you that the guy at the front desk claims that it was meant as a joke, but that it was also to keep people from walking through the glass and killing themselves. His words... I guess that must refer to a time when the glass was transparent and there were no curtains behind it, and the bronze-colored trim was gone. In short, it must have been a very deceptive window.
